This is a reminder that Spectrum Photography will be at our Oakmont pool deck on Wednesday, May 26 at 5pm to take any pictures of any swimmers who missed our photo session at Time Trials.

They will only be there for a limited time, so come prepared. There are blank order forms in the Family Folders.

Practice Cancelled Tonite Due to Chemical Levels

Sugarbears swim practice at Oakmont tonight, May 24th, HAS BEEN CANCELLED due to pool chemical issues.

We are sorry for the late notice. The problem just arose and we are actively trying to fix it.

Ribbons From Del Norte Meet-No Practice on Fri/Mon

Ribbons from the Del Norte Meet will be placed in your family folders at the Oakmont pool deck late this week. There was a mix-up with their computer system. We are sorry for the delay. We are working as quickly as possible to get them to you.

May Poolside Chat-Del Norte Meet: Crazy Hat Day

Sugarbears and Families,

It seems hard to believe Sugarbears have been in the pool for 4 weeks now. We've already had a successful time trials and our first dual meet is tomorrow, Saturday. I'm anxious to see our Sugarbears "Dangerous When Wet"!!

Our first meet is against Del Norte. I know many are asking about how the meet will run since this is our first time competing in a pool with an odd number of lanes (5). Our prelimiary communications are we will be alternating odd and even lanes with each heat and both the first and second heats of each event will be scoring heats (up to 8 lanes total). In getting back into the groove, don't be surprised if we have a few hiccups along the way. I just ask everyone to display that great Sugarbear attitude we're know for and we'll do well. Most important...don't forget Saturday is Crazy Hat Day!!! Bring your craziest hat for a little fun on the deck.

A couple of new tips! First, we have a new Vice President. Gordon Hinkle has stepped up to be part of our team leadership. Thanks Gordon!!!! We're glad to have you on board. Second, Coach Rebecca is just one short week away from joining us full time on the pool deck. She's been away at school, coming back to help whenever she can. We're looking forward to it, Rebecca!!

Finally, our biggest piece of news to highlight is our upcoming swim-a-thon scheduled for June 22nd!!! Jennifer Cox and Megan Hoppes, our tenured leaders, are back to head it up again. Get those pledges and keep a watch out for this creative duo at home meets and practices! You never know when they might have prizes for those that collect pledges early! Our team utilizes these funds for running our team and purchasing great extras, like our beautiful new swim flags that were displayed at time trials two weeks ago.

Best of luck to all Sugarbears hitting the water Saturday. Give it your all!!!

Thanks for your patience. Our Computer Operations Board Member, Michael Hynes, worked effortlessly to enter all the results manually into our database because we couldn't use our touch pads at Time Trials. It was determined that there was some water on the wires which caused them to stop working properly.

A big thanks to all the Timers who volunteered this day. Without your assistance we wouldn't have been able to get the times of each swimmer!

These are the times listed on your blue calendar you received at the Parent Kick-off Meeting and were placed in your family folders on the first day of practice. The magnet you received HAS THE INCORRECT TIMES. Disregard the practice times on it. The meet schedule listed on the magnet IS CORRECT.

Last day of practice is July 16th. Champs will be held at the RAC on July 17-18th. For those swimmers who qualify, Meet of Champs (MOC) will be held on July 31-August 1st at Woodland.

Deadline Has Past for Time Trials Sign-Out's

This is a friendly reminder that if you or your child is not swimming at Time Trials this Saturday, May 8th at the Oakmont pool, you have missed the deadline to sign out on-line.

You now need to communicate this information to the Coaches on the pool deck during practice.
