Sugarbears realigned within NorCal

Last year the Roseville Sugarbears joined the Northern California Swim League.
Our team was initially placed within the Gold Rush Conference.

At last week's NorCal meeting, it was presented, voted on and approved for the Roseville Sugarbears to be realigned into the Eureka Conference of NorCal.

Teams the Sugarbears will be swimming against next year (2010) are the following:

Del Norte
Fulton El Camino (FEC)
Fair Oaks
Sunrise
West Sacramento

Del Norte swim team is new to NorCal and located in Sacramento near Watt and Marconi.

FEC has the same suit design as us, so that should be an interesting meet, trying to figure out our swimmers. ;-)

FYI. Our 2009 Evalutions have been added to our Sugarbears website.
Look for the link entitled Evaluations on the left side menu, under the topic of Team.

Jessica Ferguson laps life's challenges

A recent article on Jessica Ferguson appeared in the Loomis and Auburn Newspaper.
A very inspirational story. Never give up on your hopes and dreams, as a swimmer or parent.
Click here to access and read the article.

Jessica is a cousin of former Sugarbear Swimmer, Coach and VFCAL rep, Megan Henry.
Jessica's Mom, Cheryl Ferguson, is a former Sugarbear, Oakmont graduate and a recipient of our Paul Clotfelter Memorial Award in 1977.

Jessica attended tryouts for the Sugarbears at age 4, but waited a year before starting recreational swimming. The following year is when the Woodcreek Seawolves, an extension to our Sugarbear family, were formed, so she started swimming at Woodcreek and later with CCA.

We wish Jessica continued success and health. Our blessings to their entire family.

Sugarbears Board Meeting

Note that our first Sugarbears Board meeting for our 2010 season will be this Tuesday night.

Sugarbears Board Meeting, Tuesday, September 15th at 6:45pm until 8:15pm
Location: Club Cruse office on 2999 Douglas Blvd
Douglas Corporate Ct. 3d Floor Conference Room
Late Arrivals Call Up For Door Service 749-9370
Open Forum Agenda and Open Discussion

Please feel welcomed to come and get involved during our off-season planning.

An excellent opportunity to become more involved.

While there are no guarantees, parents who become involved in their swimmer's swim team typically enjoy the sport more and develop into better swimmers.

We will be reviewing the survey feedback from our 2009 season and look to sharpen our axe for 2010.

Our survey results will be posted on-line sometime shortly after our board meeting.

There are Open Board and Chair positions for 2010.

If you cannot make this Tuesday night's meeting, but have a particular position you are interested in, please contact a board member. Their contact details can be found on our website.
