OHS Swim Coach, Curt Altschul, in critical, but stable condition
Oakmont Swim Coach, Curt Altschul, had an accident involving a car on Wednesday while riding his bicycle to school. He is still in CCU but listed in stable condition. His injuries include a broken sternum, ribs and two collapsed lungs. Several of our Sugarbear teens have been coached by Curt, where his 20+ years of coaching experience has proven remarkeable results. He recently had posted a very nice message to our website's guest book. Our thoughts and prayers are with Coach Curt. Feel free to post a "Get Well" message to this posting.

Curt,
Hang in there buddy.
I understand your daughter is in town visiting. Please let us know what we can do to assist you or your family. My contact info is under the "General Info".
Let's just stick to swimming, okay?
No more cycling.
Hope to see you on the pool deck soon.
You are in our prayers.

As of about 2pm Friday afternoon (9/9), Curt has taken a turn for the worse.
Curt, we pray that the competitor in you will overcome. We are all rooting for you.
God bless,

Curt has been moved from Mercy San Juan to Kaiser on Morse Avenue. He still has one of the tubes in his chest and is still on oxygen; he’s eating regular food; the hospital is slowly lowering the pain medication he is taking. Visitation has been restricted, so far, to just family members.
Coach Curt has been released from the hospital! He is recovering at home and they have him up and walking for excercise. He is still on pain medication, but progressing well.
